Fabric to Paper. Gmund Papier and Manteco®

In collaboration with the Italian fabric manufacturer Manteco®, we unite quality, design, sustainability and innovation. Guided by this shared vision, we have developed a paper collection that adheres to the zero-waste principle, transforming residual fibres from fabric production into premium paper.

The idea: cotton scraps left over from yarn production in Italy are turned into premium paper.

The residual fibres from Italy are mixed with high-quality white cotton linters – another by-product of the textile industry. They are then dyed in selected colours from the Manteco® collections. The papers are visually and haptically inspired by the fabrics designed in Italy.

The result is a stylish and sustainable paper with a textile character made from 100% cotton.

The sample book Gmund Manteco

The Compendium offers more than a simple paper selection: It serves as a comprehensive guide to the printability of Gmund papers The limitations and potentials of the papers are shown via standardized printing examples in techniques such as offset printing, hot foil stamping, relief embossing, screen printing and letterpress printing. Each Compendium presents sophisticated print motifs on different paper surfaces and in different colours to facilitate well-founded decision-making.
