Hot foil stamping

What is hot foil stamping?

The hot foil stamping finishing technique uses heat, pressure and an embossing stamp to transfer a usually metallic foil onto the printed image of the paper. There are a variety of foils, from metallic to matt, that can be used for this type of print finishing.

How does hot foil stamping work?

After a hot foil selection, from metallic to matt, an embossing stamp of the print motif is produced. The selected foil is positioned between the embossing plate and the paper and pressed onto the paper surface using heat and pressure. The foil adheres to the printed image and enhances the printed product.

Features of the hot foil

Elegant look: The use of glossy and metallic films creates a high-quality effect.

Durability: The film adheres very well to the surface due to the pressure and heat and resists abrasion, which ensures a long-lasting and high-quality look.

Wide range of colors and effects: Various metallic, glittering or holographic effects can be achieved with hot foil stamping.
