PEOPLE LOVE PAPER: Gmund Paper in Berlin
Materiality meets brand identity
Feel instead of scroll. At the PEOPLE LOVE PAPER event on 1 July in Berlin, touching and taking away was expressly permitted. Around 280 guests came to the Säälchen in the Holzmarkt Quartier to experience the many possibilities of Gmund papers up close. It was colourful, lively and full of creativity.
See it. Feel it.
Print samples, finishing techniques and colour variations provided numerous ideas for upcoming design and print concepts. Visitors were able to talk to paper experts on site about specific projects relating to packaging, mailing and much more. As part of the Paper Experience, Gmund presented stands on the Gmund Colors, Gmund Mother Earth and Gmund Moonlight collections, as well as metallic papers, the Gmund Alles Tool and Gmund Services. This enabled many to find the perfect paper for their needs.
The Berlin event demonstrated how vibrant the connection between print, design and innovation is today. There was consultation, discussion, laughter and plenty of inspiration. The audience? As diverse as the material itself: from packaging experts to printers and agencies to designers.
Exciting insights on stage
- Florian Kohler, owner of Gmund Paper, opened the evening with ‘Es liegt auf der Hand’, a passionate plea for the power of analogue and the emotional value of paper, especially in packaging.
- Caroline R. Kroll, CEO & co-founder of Nø Cosmetics, spoke in ‘No Compromises! From Idea to Brand’ about building her brand, community and her personal connection to Gmund Papier.
- Dr. Michael Braungart, co-founder of the Cradle to Cradle design concept, showed in ‘The Poetry of Courage and Innovation’ how paper can be not only sustainable but also a climate-positive solution, and why design plays a crucial role in this.
From consultation to enthusiasm
In addition to the presentations, the event offered numerous opportunities for exchange: individual project consulting, discussions about paper qualities, printing processes and creative applications. Our partner Schabert was on site with a stand for special book covers and showed how paper can be used to create extraordinary unique pieces. There was also an innovation to discover. Gmund Paperclick presented a new application of paper for interiors as floor or wall panels.
Paper is the material of the future. For creative design and sustainable solutions in the product world. We would like to say thank you to all our guests, speakers and partners, and we look forward to the next stop on our journey of analogue inspiration.
