Gmund Paper x Manteco® present new paper collection
Gmund, October 2025 – Zero waste and 100% cotton.
An innovative and particularly sustainable product has been developed in a cross-industry collaboration with Italian fabric manufacturer Manteco®. The idea: residual materials from textile production are processed into premium paper.
The paper is made from 50% cotton waste fibers that were until now disposed of. The raw material residues used for this collection come directly from Italy. More specifically, they come from the cotton cleaning and spinning process. This process releases fibers that can no longer be used for further textile production. Pressed into pellets, they are collected and turned into something new in Gmund. These long cotton fibers are mixed with 50% short cotton linters – also a by-product of the textile industry – and dyed in selected colors from the Manteco® fabric collections.
Thanks to its soft yet strong fibers, cotton is considered the highest quality raw material for paper. The plant is also an important material in fashion for all types of clothing. Cotton fibers are particularly valuable for paper production. As a sustainable material, they contribute to the preservation of forests and reduce harmful effects on sensitive ecosystems.
For Gmund Manteco, the entire cotton plant is used. Thanks to many years of combined experience in the development and production of recycled materials, waste is successfully avoided across all sectors. This paper thus combines sustainability and quality to the highest degree.
The result is a stylish and sustainable paper with a textile character and a soft feel. Gmund Manteco is ideal for packaging, brochures and cards, hang tags and many other applications. With a harmonious color palette and unique origins, this paper offers brands and designers a wide range of creative possibilities.
